Almighty God, by whose providence your servant John the Baptist was wonderfully born, and sent to prepare the way of your Son our Savior by preaching repentance: Make us so to follow his teaching and holy life, that we may truly repent according to his preaching; and, following his example, constantly speak the truth, boldly rebuke vice, and patiently suffer for the truth’s sake; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Pride Worship Service on June 28

Bishop Mark will celebrate at the Pride Worship Service at Christ Episcopal Church in Roanoke on Tuesday, Jun. 28 at 7:00 p.m. You are invited to sing, pray, eat, and celebrate the beauty of God’s creative spirit as demonstrated in the lives of LGBTQ+ people.

UTO Submission Reminder

Please be sure to submit your church or institution's UTO Spring In-Gathering checks to the Diocese with the remittance form found here. If possible, Spring In-Gathering donations should be sent in one check made payable to Episcopal Diocese of SWVA, with UTO In-Gathering; Parish Name in the memo. This will help Southwestern VA receive credit for the combined offering of all our churches and institutions.

Becoming Beloved Community Parish Contacts

The diocesan Becoming Beloved Community Guiding Team has asked each congregation to identify one or two lay leaders to serve as a parish contact for BBC work. Your parish's BBC leader(s) will form a network that expands the resource base and provides a liaison to help streamline communications.
